Health, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD Disability coverage is provided to eligible full-time employees on the first day of the calendar month following 30 days of employment with Genesis School. Coverage for spouses and dependents may be obtained at an additional cost to the employee.

Healthcare coverage is provided through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City. Employees may choose from PPO or Spira Care plan options available through Genesis School. 

Eligible employees that have been employed for less than three years can earn 8 hours of paid time off each month, adding up to a total of 80 hours or 10 days per school year. A maximum of 48 hours, or 6 days, may be carried over into the next fiscal calendar year. 

Once an employee has worked for Genesis School for three years, they are eligible to earn 10 hours of PTO each month as opposed to 8. These employees may carry over 60 of these hours to the next year.

For the following holidays, eligible full-time employees will be paid for the hours they would normally work:

• New Year’s Day (Jan 1)

• Martin Luther King Day (3rd Monday in January)

• President’s day (third Monday in February)

• Good Friday (April)

• Memorial Day (last Monday in May)

• Juneteenth (June 19th)

• Independence Day (Jul 4)

• Labor Day (first Monday in September)

• Thanksgiving (fourth Thursday in November)

• Day after Thanksgiving

• Christmas Eve (December 24)

• Christmas Day (December 25)
